FAQ

Common Questions About Tax Help

  • Can I trust you with my tax problems?
We're licensed Enrolled Agents with the IRS. That means we passed their testing and background checks. We also are fully insured, giving you confidence and peace of mind that your case is in trusted hands. But really, check our BBB rating and client reviews. They tell the real story.
  • I can't pay the IRS. How can I pay you?
Most of our clients are stretched thin when they come to us. We offer payment plans. For qualified clients, we can spread fees across your whole case. Ask us about financing options during your consultation.
  • What happens in the free consultation?
You tell us what's going on with your taxes. We listen and explain what can be done about it. No cost, no obligation, and everything stays between us. Simple as that.
  • How long will it take to fix my tax problem?
Straight answer? It depends what we're dealing with. Some issues we fix in days, like stopping wage garnishments. Other stuff, like offers in compromise or audits, can take months. We'll tell you upfront what to expect.
  • Will you keep me updated about my case?
You get your own case manager who answers when you call or email. Plus regular updates on what's happening with your case. No wondering what's going on or waiting days for callbacks.
  • Do I have to talk to the IRS myself?
No. That's why you hire us. Once you sign our power of attorney, we handle all IRS communication. In fact, you speaking to the IRS is not even recommended. If the IRS reaches out to you, then forward any IRS letters to us and get back to your life.
  • What if my tax problem is complicated?
Good. Complex cases are what we handle best. Missing records, multiple years, business audits, payroll tax problems, we've seen it all. The messier it is, the more we can probably help.
  • Do you handle state tax problems too?
Yes, we do. State tax agencies can be just as relentless and challenging as the IRS, and each state comes with its own unique tax laws and procedures. With 50 distinct tax jurisdictions, navigating state-specific income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax issues can feel overwhelming. Our team has extensive experience resolving state tax problems, including negotiating settlements, setting up manageable payment plans, addressing tax audits, and lifting state tax liens or levies. Whether you're facing issues with one state or multiple jurisdictions, we know how to manage the complexities and get you back on track efficiently and effectively.
  • What if the IRS doesn't accept your solution?
We bring decades of experience to every case. Each client's situation is unique, but our deep knowledge of IRS procedures helps us know which solutions have the best chance of approval. When we propose a resolution, it's based on what we've seen work for similar cases. If the first approach isn't accepted, we keep working until we find a path forward that satisfies both you and the IRS.
  • Can you really settle tax debt for less?
Many of our clients end up paying less than they originally owed. The IRS has several programs that can reduce tax debt for those who qualify. We'll review your situation and tell you honestly if programs like Offer in Compromise or penalty abatement could work for you. Our team knows exactly what the IRS looks for when reviewing these requests. Not everyone qualifies, but when you do, the savings can be significant.
